(Pastoral Management)
Nature of Stewardship Function
LLMS Constitution, Chapter 3, Articale 2, Section 2:A
A steward is one whom a master gives the responsibility to take charge and manage the master’s property and resources according to the conditions stipulated by the master.

“Each one, as a good steward and manager of God’s different gifts, must use for the good of others the special gift he has received from God.” (1 Pt 4:10)

Our Lord showed us the example of being a Good Shepherd and Steward of the flock given Him by the Father to take care. Every Christian who wants to follow the Lord should strive to be a good shepherd of oneself and of others.

Jesus showed us an example how to be good steward. He expressed this in His prayer to the Father for his Disciples and Followers. (Jn 17:6-26)

As Steward, Jesus wants to impress on us our participation and responsibility in appreciating, developing and managing all of God’s resources of Creation for the glory of God and the good of all.

We continue to exercise our Stewardship through the Pastoral Management Institute and the practical programs of applying these responsibilities in our life in the world.

“I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do…. I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you. For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me…. While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.… I am not asking that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth. (Jn 17:1-17)

Through the instrumentality of the Pastoral Management Institute (PMI) the Lord’s Leaven Mission continues to exercises Stewardship of resources and opportunities given by God for the purpose of realizing the Plan of God in one’s life and in those of others towards the building of the Kingdom of God on earth through the Cenacle and the Basic Ecclesial Communities (BEC).

Through the PMI Lord’s Leaven strives to maximize the use of every resource of nature (e.g. any created thing and man’s natural charisms) and of grace (e.g. gifts of the Holy Spirit)….

The primary purpose of God for giving to man the use of all graces of nature and of grace is to manifest God’s glory in all creation so that man may acknowledge, thank and praise God.

The secondary purpose of God for giving man the mandate to develop and multiply everything in the universe is for man to obey the basic mandate of God in Genesis to develop and multiply everything in the whole created universe following the Functions of Christ as Steward, Priest, Prophet and King
The third purpose of God for giving man to develop and multiply everything in the universe with the cooperative participation of all is to share with everyone the fruits of development and multiplication for the benefit of all.
